The Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse standing beneath it

We were amazed at the size of the Arch - 630 feet high!

Grayson and Darby race towards the Mississippi River to burn off some energy

I hope they don't fall off the levy!

Jonna hanging out under the Arch

The Gateway Arch is an architectural phenomenon

Mark and the kids enjoying the park

Looking up at the arch you can see Darby and 16 tiny windows at the top

Let's head to the top to look down!

We awaited Pod 4 to transport us atop and hoped for the best!

Destination  Mars!?!?!

The view of the Old Courthouse and the city was wonderful

Jonna, Grayson, and Darby up top

We were intrigued by the shadow the Arch cast onto the Mississippi River

Mark and Darby at the highest point in the Arch

A little friend we encountered, much like Lewis and Clark likely did

(luckily this one was stuffed!)

Darby and Grayson diligently worked on their Junior Ranger programs

Grayson and Darby opt for the hotel over these digs

Buffalo burger, anyone?

Mark, Grayson, and Darby explore alternative means of transportation

The kids were awarded their Junior Ranger badges after completing the work

The Arch is made of aluminum even though it looks white from a distance

A different perspective

A view from right up against the base of the Arch

The surrounding park area is beautiful

Darby and Grayson just couldn't get enough

The Eads Bridge

When built in 1874, it was the longest arch bridge in the world

The Gateway Arch appears to turn colors depending on the weather and time of day

At sunset it appeared orange and pink
