Darby and Grayson at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art

It was good to get an overview of the history of the state before setting out.

2009 is 50th birthday of Alaska's statehood

Darby loved this painting of Mt. McKinley

"Gold Diggers"

We conquered the most famous bike trail in Anchorage - the Tony Knowles

Along the trail

Scenery along the bike trail was beautiful of the Cook Inlet and

later the Knik Arm and Alaskan mountain range

We paused in Earthquake Park to learn more about the 9.2 quake that

devastated the area in 1964

Only a few feet from where they are posing is a sheer drop down to the water...

The paved bike trails are gorgeous in Anchorage

The kids pause for a rest on the return trip of the loop
