We detoured to see Potter Marsh on the way to Seward

The 1,500 foot boardwalk offers many viewing areas as well as interpretive signs

Grayson studied the list of wildlife sightings seen at the marsh in the last 24 hours

Looking over the bridge, we saw a large 3+ ft. Sockeye Salmon.

Do you see Mark and Grayson's reflection in the water?

The marsh was very peaceful - it was accidentally created when the railroad was built

A fresh moose track in the marsh!

Mark, Grayson, and Darby enjoying the boardwalk

A view over the railroad tracks of Turnagain Arm (from Beluga Point)

A turkey friend we saw when we stopped at Indian Valley Meats

There was a store to purchase Reindeer hotdogs there - drop your carcasses here!

Our little native Alaska family - Mark and Darby will do the harpooning

while Jonna skins the beaver and Grayson plays with his husky dog

This Dall Sheep stood perfectly still for the photo (OK, it's a statue!)

We finally arrived on the Kenai Peninsula...

The weather was hazy and warm and the wildflowers and mountains were beautiful

Look at these daisies!

Our first stop was the Kenai Fjords National Park

We missed the ranger-led hike so treked to the edge of the Exit Glacier on our own

It was beautiful, but the black flies swarmed!

The Exit Glacier can be seen between these two mountains

Grayson, Mark, and Darby strolling down the trail

Grayson is standing on rock that was covered by the Exit Glacier only 11 years ago!

Darby and Mark take a break - it was hotter than usual

Darby, Mark, and Grayson by the glacier

When the glacier receded, it left large boulders like this one behind

The water behind Grayson, Mark, and Darby is glacier stream

Grayson found a friend in the Visitor's Center

Acting silly!

D & G doing puzzles while Mark drives the RV

Our campsite at Stoney Creek was wonderful!

This is the view from the front of our site!

We got a fire going - the camp office was right behind us

Darby and Grayson glued to the iTouch - there was Wi-Fi at the site

They roasted some hot dogs over the fire for dinner...

...while Mark grilled burgers

It was a wonderful setting for dinner - we have eaten all our meals in Alaska this way
