We took it easy this morning when we awoke in our Colorado Springs hotel after such a long day yesterday.  After enjoying a quick breakfast, we drove through the Garden of the Gods to see it.  The rock formations were gorgeous.   From there we headed over to the Broadmoor to see the El Pomar Carriage Museum which I had read about in my travel book.  The museum wasn’t scheduled to open until 1 pm so we strolled around the palatial resort.  It was gorgeous with a golf course, pool, lake and paddle boats as well as a quaint little café featuring tables with bright, perky umbrellas perched alongside the lake.  Everyone seemed to be enjoying a beautiful Sunday morning. We explored the lobby and found it equally charming.  Mark and I both would love to spend a few days there sometime in the future if the opportunity ever arose.

We entered the carriage museum at exactly 1 pm and met the curator, Bill.  Bill was a fantastic guide.  He took us all around the museum and showed us each of the old carriages, two of which carried presidents of the United States to their Inaugural speeches.  It was a fantastic museum and we could have spent more time there but unfortunately we were constricted by time.  We spent about an hour there and then headed out to the Tarryall River Dude Ranch to meet the rest of the family.
